Luiza Naslyan is a contemporary artist currently residing in Dilijan.
Luiza Naslyan’s works have been exhibited both in Armenia and internationally: at the NPAK Center for Innovative and Experimental Art; on the Open Platform of the “Parajanov 100” project; at the Dilijan Local Lore Museum and Art Gallery; at the Dafen Oil Painting Village Museum (China) as part of the 2nd Oil Painting Biennale; in the United Kingdom; at the Stepanakert Gallery (Artsakh); and at other regional and international venues.
Her artistic practice is to question certain aspects of our lives, our society, to encourage people including herself to review our viewpoints, actions, attitudes to the areas that matter to us as a society: awareness of nature-friendly ways of life, compassion for cultural and animal diversity, safety and responsibility for more vulnerable groups, specifically our children and women.
She studied art at Grants Art education center in Armenia, and at ISZAF China. She acquired an art teaching certificate at MoMA New York. Earlier she studied linguistics at Brusov.
“My artistic practice is not only about art.
It is my way of speaking to the world.
Through my personal experience, I seek to show that living in harmony with nature is possible.
Not by destroying, but by enriching.
Not by mindless consumption, but through care and preservation.
I believe that humans are not the masters of nature, but a part of it.
And in that connection lies a great power — the power of awareness, care, and conscious choice.
Every step we take leaves a trace.
But we can choose what kind of trace it will be — destructive or life-giving.
My message is simple:
pause, listen, feel.
Remember that we are not separate from this world.
And begin to live in a way that leaves life behind us”.
